McLaren duo in the pink... literally

NEWS STORY

McLaren drivers Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen are both sporting pink wigs today in aid of CLIC Sargent's Wig Wednesday campaign

The fundraising event, run by CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading cancer charity for children and young people, today invites thousands of people across the UK to don a wig for the day to raise money and show support for children and young people, who may lose their hair through treatment for cancer.

"The Wig Wednesday look definitely beats helmet hair," said a remarkably cute looking Button, "but, much more important, I'm happy to support Wig Wednesday 2014.

"CLIC Sargent does a fantastic job helping children and young people with cancer, and Wig Wednesday is a fun and simple way for people to show their support and raise money for this wonderful charity."

"I'd never heard of Wig Wednesday before," admitted Kevin Magnussen, "but, when it was explained to me, straight away I liked the idea of it.

"I gather that CLIC Sargent is a really brilliant charity, improving the lives of not only children with cancer but also their families, so anything that we at McLaren can do to help Wig Wednesday 2014, and thereby help raise funds for CLIC Sargent, is well worth doing in my view."

If you want to join Jenson and Kevin and get involved, you can donate online or text 'WIGS82 £3' to 70070.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether a former team owner turned TV pundit will shed his usual rug and get into the spirit of things... be it Wig Wednesday, Thatch Thursday, Fake Piece Friday, Syrup Saturday... you get the idea.
