It may have only been his second day on the job but Kevin Magnussen has already attracted the attention of the Race Director.

The young Dane, taking part in his first Formula One qualifying session, was summoned by the Race Director because it was considered that he failed to observe the yellow flag zone covering Kimi Raikkonen's damaged Ferrari during the closing moments of Q2.

However, stewards ultimately found Magnussen had no case to answer, using his own words as evidence while stating: "The telemetry was inconclusive due to very different track conditions between laps."

It leaves the 21-year-old free to start from fourth in tomorrow's race, six places higher than teammate Jenson Button.
