Toro Rosso youngster Daniil Kvyat is to test with the Faenza team this week with the aim of getting his super licence.

The 19-year-old, who last month was Toro Rosso's shock signing as replacement for Daniel Ricciardo in 2014, took part in this year's Young Driver Test at Silverstone.

However, in order to gain the necessary super licence he will take part in two days of testing this week in a 2011 car. Following that he is scheduled to take part in the Friday morning sessions at the United States and Brazilian Grands Prix.

"We will have a test with him next week," team boss Franz Tost told reporters at the Yas Marina. "Afterwards, he will go out on Friday in America and in Sao Paulo and of course we will have winter time, where he has to do a lot of work with physical training, mental training, then working on the simulator to prepare him as good as possible for the next season.

"I'm convinced he will do a good job because he is a very high-skilled driver," he continued. "He has done, this year so far, a very good job in GP3. Apart from this he showed a very good performance in Formula 3 - in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship - where he won the last race in Zandvoort, starting from the pole position. If I remember correctly, his first race, in Hockenheim, he was also in pole position and finished the race in third. For us, for Red Bull and for Toro Rosso, he is a very high-skilled driver and I think that he will have a successful future."

Indeed, Kvyat secured the GP3 title this weekend, taking pole for the Feature Race and going on to win it.
