Mark Webber has dismissed media reports quoting him as saying that he enjoys "great camaraderie" with Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel.

The claim, coming weeks after the Malaysian Grand Prix in which Vettel ignored team orders and overtook Webber, thereby denying him certain victory, and reopening old wounds within the Austrian team, raised eyebrows on Saturday.

"Call me a cynic, but can't quite believe the @AussieGrit quotes floating around today about how he and Seb "share a great camaraderie"," tweeted Reuters Alan Baldwin.

"Now into its seventh season, my partnership with Red Bull Racing is one of the longest between a driver and a team," Webber had been quoted as saying. "Sebastian and I are a team and we share a great camaraderie."

On Sunday however, the Australian was keen to put the record straight.

"Some rubbish quotes floating around today I hear, good old spin job by someone... #outofdatequotes," he tweeted.
