Mercedes has been fined for an incident during today's qualifying incident involving Michael Schumacher.

As the cars went out for their final run in Q3, the Mercedes driver was sent out of his garage straight into the path of Lewis Hamilton. Somehow, the English driver was able to miss the German, driving around the back of the silver car and using the pit apron. Thankfully there was nobody standing there.

Following an investigation the stewards deemed that Mercedes has unsafely released Schumacher, a breach of Breach of Article 23.12 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. As a result the German team was fined 10,000 euros.

Next season Hamilton will drive for Mercedes, Schumacher having announced last week that he is to retire at the end of the season.
