Monza sensation Sergio Perez has an appointment at Maranello this week however, before the rumours start flying Ferrari reveals that the planned visit relates to his role as part of its driver academy.

The Mexican, who many believe is a shoe-in for Felipe Massa's seat - along with Zorro - despite Luca di Montezemolo's claim that he is not yet ready to make the step up, is a member of the Maranello outfit's Young Driver Academy, and it is in this role that he will visit the Scuderia's HQ this week.

The Sauber sensation will get time in the Italian team's simulator, a session which "has been planned for months", before handing over to Felipe Massa.

Meanwhile, at Magny-Cours, Jules Bianchi and Davide Rigon will share the F2012 in the Young Driver Test, one of the other aims of the outing being to "fine-tune the correlation between the simulator and the track", according to the team.

Back home after a mixed weekend in Monza but which ultimately saw Fernando Alonso end the European phase of the season still leading the championship, Stefano Domenicali cited Fernando Alonso's 'moment' involving Sebastian Vettel as a significant part in the race.

"It was a hard battle and I believe the Stewards' decision was right," he said, "above all given the clarification that was given out by the FIA after the last Bahrain Grand Prix. I'm also sure that Sebastian didn't have any intention of jeopardising Fernando's race: the German is a driver who is firm but fair."
