The German Grand Prix is set to remain at Hockenheim next season after the Nurburgring hit financial difficulty earlier this month. The news was confirmed by Bernie Ecclestone on a visit to the Media Centre in Hungary.

"We will be at Hockenheim," said Ecclestone. "We need to keep the German race so we have to do the best we can."

It has been rumoured that Ecclestone could buy the Nurburgring circuit, a rumour the 81-year-old denied. "I don't think the property is for sale," he said.

With the German Grand Prix apparently set to stay on in 2013 it puts further pressure on an already cramped calendar. The 2013 calendar is "more or less" unchanged, Ecclestone said, though perhaps with the omission of the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

As far as the New Jersey Grand Prix goes, the F1 ringmaster simply said "it's supposed to be" on the calendar.
