Difficult day for Williams

NEWS STORY

After a weekend that promised so much Williams leaves Germany empty handed after both drivers carried damaged cars home to the finish.

Bruno Senna's race was compromised early after the Brazilian came together with Romain Grosjean. "The side of my left front collided with the side of his right rear, and then both of those got punctures," Senna explained. "We lost a minute on that whole thing with the lap and with a very slow pit stop."

Maldonado's race looked somewhat more promising until the Spanish Grand Prix winner ran over debris, damaging the floor of his car. "That makes a big effect when you're searching for hundredths of a second then you can lose two tenths - who knows how much time he was losing," Senna explained.

"Both of us had our fair share of damage on our cars, and I think today could have been a better day if it was more straightforward," he added. "I think it was difficult to pick up points from that position."
