As widely expected, HRT, which is not due to run its new car until the second Barcelona test, has opted not to attend next week's opening test at the Spanish track.
Last week the Spanish outfit revealed, via Twitter, that having failed two of the mandatory crash tests, the new car wouldn't take to the track until the test beginning on March 1.
Now, having used its 2011 car in Jerez, the Spanish team has confirmed that it will not attend next week's test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
In 2010, and again in 2011, the team was unable to take part in the pre-season tests, its cars' making their debuts during free practice in Melbourne.
