Robert Kubica's manager has hit out at Lotus Renault GP after the British team claimed that the Polish star cannot commit to being ready for the start of next season.

In a statement issued by the team yesterday, Kubica was quoted as saying that he was "not yet certain" that he would be fit in time for the season opening Australian Grand Prix next March.

"I don't understand why Renault have changed Robert's words," Daniele Morelli told Gazzetta dello Sport. "It is not true that he won't be ready for 2012, he said he was not certain to be fit for the first tests in February. We are counting on him and hoping he will do it but in any case the delay will be a few months."

With speculation linking Kubica to Ferrari, Morelli spiced things up when he added: "Renault will take their decision regarding drivers, and we will look for alternative solutions."

Referring to the Pole's contract with the team, which is to be called Lotus next year, he revealed: "It doesn't extend into 2012, it finishes at the end of December. From January we will be free to go in whichever direction."
