Adrian Sutil has called on Force India to put him out of his misery and let him know whether he will be retained for 2012.

The Silverstone based outfit has repeatedly said that it will announce its driver line-up in mid-December, however, Sutil, who has been with the team since it began racing in 2008, and previously with Spyker in 2007, says he cannot wait that long.

"I can't wait until December," he told reporters ahead of the inaugural Indian Grand Prix. "I will speak to him very soon and see what his ideas are. I don't need to wait so long for a seat.

"I think I know what I can do, so I don't feel insecure," he added, as the teams seeks to close the 23 point gap to Renault - which has taken 7 points from the last 7 races, compared to Force India's 37 - while fending off Sauber and Toro Rosso.

Asked about Mallya's role with Force India now that Sahara has bought a 42.5% stake in the team, Sutil said: "Vijay still is the man behind Force India. Things may change a bit but he is very important for the team... he has also some racing background. That's very important in Formula One."

While the team insists it will not announce its line-up until December, our sources insist the decision was made some time ago with Nico Hulkenberg lining up alongside Paul di Resta. Meanwhile, Sutil and his sponsors are said to be of great interest to Williams.
