Reliable sources inform us that Leo Hindery Jr, the driving force behind the New Jersey F1 race, spent two days with Bernie Ecclestone this week.

Hindery, managing partner of InterMedia Partners, a New York-based media industry private equity fund, and until 2004, chairman and CEO of The YES Network, the nation's largest regional sports network which he founded in 2001, spent Thursday and Friday in talks with Ecclestone in London.

Hours later, the American media revealed plans for Speed TV to interrupt its planned schedule on Tuesday with an announcement about a proposed F1 race in New Jersey against the Manhattan Skyline.

Ahead of Tuesday's press conference, amidst speculation as to what event will be dropped from the calendar for the new event, which will run from 2013, we can confirm that the race will be known as the Grand Prix of America.
