Amalgam has announced that it is to produce a strictly limited run of 20 1:8 scale models of the MP4-26 in which Jenson Button won the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix.

"What a race! What a race!" Button yelled down the McLaren team radio as he crossed the finish line. His phenomenal last-lap victory for McLaren at the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix probably the most impressive drive of his career and certainly the most exciting race finish of 2011 so far.

The race lasted four hours, plagued by abysmal weather and standing water on the track, however, demonstrating supreme driving skill Button - who was in twenty-first position at the time of the final Safety Car period - fought his way through the entire field to score a dramatic last-lap victory over Sebastian Vettel in what he describes as the best of his life.

Priced at £2,999.00, this very special limited edition of only 20 pieces will sell out very quickly. Amalgam is taking pre-orders with a 50% deposit now to secure one of the models in this very small edition for delivery at the end of August.

At 1:8 the model is approximately 24 inches (60 cms) long. Creating the master components will take around 2,000 hours of work by a small team of highly skilled modelmakers.

Each individual model will then take around 250 hours more to finish and build. The models will be very deeply detailed and will show in extremely fine and accurate detail the MP4-26 exactly as it was driven by Button from last to first place and on to ultimate victory at the Canadian GP. Each model in the edition of 20 pieces will have a signed certificate of authentication and a unique numbered edition plate on the base.
