Sebastien Buemi was involved in a freak incident during a Red Bull demonstration run in Japan at the weekend.

The Swiss Toro Rosso driver had completed a number of show runs and performed the obligatory donuts when he started making his way back to the start-line.

Unfortunately however, a marshal who was attempting to cross the track before the Swiss driver got there made a last second attempt to jump over the car - he failed.

Thankfully, the incident looked a lot nastier than it actually was, the marshal getting up - his pride more damaged than anything else - and Buemi was able to complete a couple of further runs.

Speaking at the event at Makuhari's Big Beach Music Festival, and which formed part of a fundraising effort for the Japan earthquake relief fund, Buemi said he was happy to assist in raising money for such a worthy cause.

As well as adding that he is looking forward to the Japanese Grand Prix, the Swiss also said he was looking forward to Bahrain, having previously lived there.

YouTube footage of the incident can be seen here and here (different angle).
