Schumacher to use Bridgestones?

While a number of drivers have voiced there concern at the high rate of degradation found in the new Pirelli tyres, the general consensus of opinion is that all is well and, other than the fact there have been a few teething problems, there is nothing to be worried about.

Nobody wants a return to 2010 when in some instances a set of softs could last an entire race, therefore the thought of drivers needing to ease off or even make additional pit-stops for tyres is being keenly anticipated in some quarters.

However, while one of the problems Michael Schumacher - seen above in action at Valencia yesterday - faced last season was the Bridgestone tyres, particularly those on the front of his Mercedes, the fact is that five of his seven titles were won on the Japanese manufacturer's rubber.

Maybe it is a desire to stick with 'the devil he knows', maybe it's for sentimental reasons or maybe it's down to the fact that the German and his team have been given special dispensation by the FIA... after all, unless he knows something we don't, how else does one account for yesterday's faux pas?

In a sport so obsessed with logos...
