McLaren has revealed that it will launch its 2011 contender, the MP4-26, in Berlin on February 4.

With most teams expected to unveil their new cars before the first pre-season test, the Woking outfit has also confirmed that it will be running an interim car in Valencia based on 2010's MP4-25.

Ferrari, Lotus Renault GP, Sauber and Toro Rosso have all officially announced that their 2011 contenders will be unveiled ahead of the Valencia test, while Force India, which has yet to announce a launch date, will run its 2010 car at the first test.

While McLaren is giving little else away at this time, it's thought that the interim car will feature various aerodynamic and electronic components from the new car.

Earlier this week the Woking team dismissed reports that its new car would feature a radical livery change. There is also intense speculation as to why the team has chosen to launch its new car in Berlin.
