Senna ruled out at Hispania

Hispania team boss Colin Kolles has said that Bruno Senna is not in contention for the remaining seat with the Spanish outfit.

The 27-year-old, of whom his legendary uncle Ayrton Senna once said, "If you think I'm fast, just wait until you see my nephew", had what could only be described as a baptism of fire last season, his team suffering problems on and off track. While he failed to impress, suggesting that those who had always doubted his ability were right all along, it was thought that the name alone might smooth the way, however, that appears not to be the case.

Just hours after officially confirming that Indian veteran Narain Karthikeyan has been recruited, Colin Kolles told Reuters that Senna is not one of the drivers under consideration for the second seat.

"I can definitely say that Mr Bruno Senna is not going to race for HRT. 100 percent not," said the Romanian.

As the team continues to seek out funding, Kolles refused to name the drivers currently being considered though it is understood that Christian Klien and Sakon Yamamoto, who both raced for the Spanish team last season, are in the frame.

Senna's best result last year was 14th in Korea, while his highest grid position was 20th in Belgium.
