BBC still pondering Legard future

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the BBC is still considering the future of F1 commentator Jonathan Legard.

In the summer, Charles Sale - who according to Private Eye uses his column very much as part of his personal agenda and also for PR purposes for the chosen few - suggested that Legard's future was in doubt, claiming that co-commentator and pundit Martin Brundle was unhappy.

Sale now reports that BBC bosses have yet to reach a decision on Legard's future claiming that Brundle continues to insist that there is not enough chemistry between them.

While Brundle has a year of his contract still to run, Legard's is up for renewal.

Sale claims that while the BBC will take Brundle's comments on board he will not be involved in the final decision.

Then again, after Eddie Jordan's pre-race hysteria in Abu Dhabi, not to mention his car crash grid walk - remember Brundle giving him the slip leaving the Irishman talking to himself - perhaps in isn't Legard the Beeb should be looking at. EJ's behaviour at the Yas Marina was positively manic.
