Despite the fact that the FIA has yet to carry out its final inspection of the track, Bernie Ecclestone insists that the Korean Grand Prix will go ahead later this month.

The event has been in question for some time and just two weeks ago, in Singapore, Ecclestone expressed his doubts for the first time.

However, with less than two weeks to go before the cars are due to take to the track for the first practice session and two days before Charlie Whiting and his team are due to inspect the track, Ecclestone is adamant that the race will happen.

"I will be there, the world will be watching and we will have a great race... it is on, end of story," he told the Daily Express. "They had problems but they have done wonders in the last few weeks.

"I've been in touch, I've seen photographs and the top layer of the track has been laid," he added. "They will pass the inspection.
