Following an investigation by race stewards in Germany, Ferrari has been fined $100,000 and referred to the World Motor Sport Council.

Representatives of the Italian team, including both drivers, were called before the stewards following today's controversial race in which (race leader) Felipe Massa was effectively ordered to defer to his teammate.

The Maranello outfit was subsequently found guilty of two breaches of Articles 39.1 of the FIA 2010 Sporting regulations and article 151.c) of the 2010 FIA International sporting code.

For breaching these regulations, one of which refers to the fact that "team orders are prohibited" and the other is related to bringing the sport into disrepute, the Maranello outfit has been fined $100,000 and referred to the World Motor Sport Council.

However, no matter what further punishment the WMSC might decide to mete out to the Italian team, the result of today's race still stands.
