Ferrari have been summoned by the race stewards at the Hockenheimring following today's German Grand Prix.

Both drivers, team boss Stefano Domenicali and Rob Smedley, Massa's race engineer have been called following today's controversial race in which the Brazilian was called upon to defer to teammate Fernando Alonso.

The Brazilian was leading the race when his engineer Rob Smedley advised him that his Spanish teammate was quicker, asking Massa to signal that he understood the message. A few corner later the Brazilian allowed his teammate through.

In 2002 Ferrari, Ferrari was called before the FIA and fined after stage managing the result of the Austrian Grand Prix, ordering Rubens Barrichello to allow Michael Schumacher by on the final lap.

Even while the race was still in progress, TV commentators and fans were expressing their outrage, with Red Bull team boss Christian Horner stating the move was the "clearest team order I've ever seen". The Englishman, whose own team has been under close scrutiny in recent weeks, subsequently said that team orders are "wrong for the sport".
