Timo Glock, Lucas di Grassi and Karun Chandhok have all been given 5-place grid penalties ahead of today's qualifying session.
The Virgin duo have been punished after the team failed to notify the FIA of the gear ratios it intends using this weekend.
Teams are obliged to notify the FIA's technical delegate of the gear ratios they intend using for the remainder of the weekend, within two hours of the end of the second practice session on Friday. Virgin failed to meet the deadline, a breach of the sport's technical regulations.
Meanwhile, Karun Chandhok has been handed a 5-place grid penalty after his team opted to change the gearbox on his car.
