Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has given the thumbs-up to the FIA's decision to allow Flavio Briatore back into F1 in 2013.

Speaking at Modena's Military Academy, where his company's much anticipated 599 GTO was being previewed, di Montezemolo gave his full support to the decision taken by the FIA earlier this week under its new president, Jean Todt.

"I'm glad for Briatore. Jean Todt made a wise and appropriate decision," said the Italian.

Last year, while the FIA was still headed by Max Mosley, di Montezemolo, then head of the teams' alliance - the Formula One Teams Association - was close to withdrawing Ferrari from the Formula One World Championship and starting its own breakaway series.
Speaking last night, di Montezemolo, also took time out to show his appreciation for his team's two drivers in the first three races of the 2010 title fight.

"I'm very happy about Felipe's position and especially about his full recovery after his accident last year. I'm very satisfied with Alonso, with everything he does on and off the track and with his great concentration. I hope very much that Ferrari will be ahead again and competitive on Sunday, although it will be a fierce fight."
