Stefan GP heads to Bahrain

The curious story of Stefan GP takes another twist with the news that the Serbian F1 hopeful is heading to Bahrain.

Following last week's news that the team has signed an agreement with Toyota for technical support and hasn't yet given up on the idea of securing a slot on the 2010 grid, today the Serbian outfit announced that it is heading to Bahrain - scene of the season opener in just over five weeks.

"Stefan Grand Prix writes history!" the team proclaimed on its website. "SGP becomes the first team in F1 history who did send a 40 foot container full of equipment to the race in Bahrain without having entry for 2010 season!

"On Friday 29th January we showed our spirit, and how serious our management and our employees are when they say that we are pushing to get the entry, and that they want to race in 2010 season.

"Anyway we are proud of us, and on our power of will, so we will keep going and show some new people belong in F1.

"Also, this way we would like to thank our dear employees for the level of their professionalism and spirit. So: Phil, Johannes, Mike, Markus, Dirk, Guido, Sabine, Theresa, Ruediger, Markus, Juergen, and everybody else Thank You! You make our dream come true!"
