Ferrari has unveiled its 2010 contender, the F10, at its factory in Maranello

The Italian outfit is looking for a major step forward this season after winning just one race in 2009 and finishing fourth in the Constructors' Championship.

The launch. which took place on the second floor of the new assembly lines for Ferrari road cars in Maranello, saw Felipe Massa joined by Fernando Alonso, the two-time world champion wearing the famous scarlet overalls of the legendary team for the first time in public.

"It's a very important season for us," said team boss Stefano Domenicali. "We come from a season which was not positive. We have the potential with everything we have to do well."

"It's a special presentation for me after everything that happened in 2009," said Massa. "I hope this really is a competitive car and we can fight for the title again."

"It's my first Ferrari presentation, and for me it's very emotional" added Alonso. "We are ready to take on the responsibility of getting 100 percent out of this car."

Felipe Massa is due to run the car this afternoon at Fiorano, ahead of next week's official test at Valencia. However, poor weather conditions mean that the run might have to be postponed until Friday.
