Felipe Massa completed 30 laps at Mugello on Tuesday, the first time he has driven an F1 car in anger since his accident during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Poor weather in the morning meant the test had to be delayed until conditions improved in the afternoon, and even then the Brazilian was only able to complete 30 laps before it became too dark.

"I'm happy that I could get into the car and it's always a pleasure driving on a track like Mugello," he said. "Everything went well, it's just a pity that I could only drive in the afternoon. Let's hope I can be back tomorrow!"

As it happens, Massa, weather permitting, should get his wish for the team will allow him further running today after which he will return to Brazil for Christmas.

The test was supported by Ferrari's Corse Clienti department, which provided Massa with an F2007 fitted with exposition tyres for the occasion.
