Gallagher joins Cosworth

Cosworth has announced the appointment of Mark Gallagher as the leader of the Group's Formula 1 Business Unit.

Formerly with Jordan Grand Prix and Jaguar Racing between 1995 and 2005, Gallagher joins Cosworth from Status Grand Prix Ltd, the team he co-founded in 2005 and guided to victory for Ireland in the 2008/09 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.

As Business Unit Leader for Cosworth’s Formula 1 operations, Mark will play a crucial role in delivering the performance that Cosworth’s F1 customers will rely on. He will represent Cosworth at the track and be fully responsible for coordination of Cosworth’s relationship with its customers.

"I am very pleased that Mark has agreed to join Cosworth," commented Tim Routsis, Chief Executive of the Cosworth Group. "Mark is the ideal man to head up Cosworth’s Formula 1 operation and I'm confident he will play a major role in Cosworth's success as our engines return to the grid in 2010."

In response to his appointment, Mark Gallagher said, "The opportunity to lead Cosworth’s Formula 1 operations is one that I am relishing. As we start an exciting new chapter in the history of Cosworth’s contribution to Formula 1 my focus will be on ensuring that the technical excellence inherent in our products and the trackside support we will provide will play a significant role in enabling our customers to achieve their goals."
