Later start for Abu Dhabi GP

It has been announced that the start time of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been moved from 15.00 to 17.00 in a bid to make the season finale more accessible to European race fans.

The 15.00 start time would have meant the race getting underway at midday on mainland Europe, however, the move to 17.00 means a more convenient, and traditional, 14.00 start time.

With dusk falling at 17.45, organisers have said they are aware that artificial lighting may be required, though this would not be a problem. On the other hand, it is unlikely that we will see a repeat of the farce that was Malaysia, when failing light coupled with a Monsoon downpour brought the race to an early and highly embarrassing conclusion.
