Rubens Barrichello has paid a visit to fellow-Brazilian racer Felipe Massa as the Ferrari star recovers from the injuries sustained at the Hungaroring last month.

It was during Q2 at the Hungaroring that a spring worked loose and fell from Barrichello's Brawn, wrecking the Brazilian's hopes of a good qualifying position and almost ending the career of the 2008 championship runner-up running behind.

The spring subsequently hit the visor on Massa's helmet fracturing his skull as it struck just above the Brazilian's left eye. It's driver no longer in control of his car crashed into the barriers and F1 held its breath.

Now, following the numerous operations and scans, Massa is back home in Brazil slowly recovering and no doubt setting his sights on returning to the grid as soon as possible.

While in hospital in Budapest, Massa was visited by many of his F1 colleagues in addition to Luca di Montezemolo, Bernie Ecclestone and Michael Schumacher. However, back in Brazil, Barrichello is the first F1 driver to visit the 28-year-old.

"I spent the afternoon with Felipe," Barrichello 'reports' on his Twitter. "He is fine and exactly the same person as before, thank God.

"On Felipe's comeback we need to be patient," adds the Brawn driver, "he has to be 100 percent before driving again. He certainly doesn't lack the will.

"I loved the afternoon, he was so well and in good spirits."
