Brawn GP boss Ross Brawn could be facing a driving ban after being caught speeding in his Mercedes in Devon.

The Englishman was allegedly caught doing 100 mph on the A30 near Okehampton in Devon on May 30, the Saturday in between the Monaco and Turkish Grands Prix, the road has a 70 mph limit.

Because he is currently planning his team's championship fight-back after a string of three disappointing races, Brawn was unable to appear at the hearing at Plymouth Magistrates' Court yesterday (Monday), however his legal team was granted an adjournment and the case will now be heard on September 4, the Friday between the Belgian and Italian rounds of the championship.

While the prospect of a ban is sure to depress the 54-year-old, Jenson Button is said to be greatly encouraged by his boss' tyre management. Paddock rumourmongers suggest Rubens Barrichello could have done 105 mph on that particular stretch of road but that Brawn had the better car.
