Nick Fry has confirmed the survival of the former Honda F1 team, though he was giving precious little else away.

Telling reporters in Geneva this morning that there would be more news "soon", the Englishman praised FOTA for its support: "All the teams and their support have helped Honda survive. Ross and I and our 700 employees thank them.

"I think it's correct to say that our team has and will benefit in the future from FOTA in two ways," he continued. "The first is clearly that the cost reductions will help us enormously in the challenges that our team will face in the next two or three years. As important in the cost reduction is the level of support that we've enjoyed over the last three months from all the teams."

It is widely expected that the Brackley team will shakedown its 2009 contender at Silverstone tomorrow, using the Stoew circuit, ahead of next week's test at Barcelona.
