At Valencia today, BMW continued its evaluation programme for the new F1.09. In the morning Robert Kubica tried different set-up solutions and also more carried out a number of race start simulations. Due to strong winds in the afternoon however, the engineers switched their focus to overall reliability. Several long runs helped amass further basic data for the all-new car. Once again, no times were issued by the team.

"While the morning was good, unfortunately the wind made testing quite difficult in the afternoon," said Kubica after completing 116 laps. "But we still got some interesting results which will help us understand the new BMW Sauber F1.09 better."

After two days with Kubica at the wheel, tomorrow sees the F1.09 in the hands of Nick Heidfeld for the first of two more days of testing.
