Even though, like most top drivers, he has been linked with a possible future move to Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton has assured his fans that he will never leave McLaren, the team that brought him to F1.
"I was born and grew up at McLaren. It is my home," he told Italy's Corriere dalla Sera. "I will never change team. I have a lot of respect for Ron and what he has done for me."
While the 23-year-old can look forward to a package which will allow him to defend his title next season, he took time out to offer a few words of support for fellow-Briton Jenson Button, who, following Honda's withdrawal from the sport, has yet to secure a drive for next year.
"I'm sorry for the team and for Button," he said. "I hope he finds a way out. We've known for a bit that there are problems to resolve in the motoring world."
