Despite the (many) problems, A1GP puts on a show

A1GP organizers will have had their hearts in their mouths for much of the weekend. A shortage of cars meant that several teams, including Great Britain, had to miss the opening round of season four, consequently there were changes to the format and even the points system.

So, what's the last thing you need when you have few cars and even fewer spares parts... rain… and boy did it rain at Zandvoort!

Nonetheless, despite the numerous problems, the organizers, who at times appeared to be changing the rules by the hour, got through a difficult start to the season courtesy of a brace of entertaining races.

With Canada, Germany, Great Britain, India, Mexico and Pakistan sitting out the first round - what else can you do when you don't have a car? - the remaining seventeen teams put on a show, with Malaysia and France both proving victorious in atrocious conditions.
