Flushed with the initial success of the Singapore GP weekend, Bernie Ecclestone has admitted that he is now looking at running further night races, with Japan likely to be the next to get the full floodlight treatment.

Speaking to reporters earlier today, the Englishman was asked if more night races are planned. "If we have more races in this part of the world, yes," he replied.

"We're going to try to get Japan to do it," he revealed. "I hope when people see Singapore they realise it wasn't a stupid idea."

Despite pressure being applied in Australia, the organizers were only willing to move the race to an early evening slot, not sufficient if Ecclestone is to have the race on European TV screens at lunchtime, while organizers in Malaysia are understood to be considering the possibility of switching to a night race.
