Mr Justice Eady is expected to announce his decision in the Max Mosley v News of the World privacy case this morning, when the court resumes at 10.00 this morning in Court 13 of the High Court in London.

Many believe that Mosley will win what is widely seen as a landmark case following the apparent collapse of the News of the World's case when its 'star' witness (Woman E) withdrew, the defence counsel claiming that she was in an "extreme mental and emotional state".

It was Woman E who allegedly informed the British tabloid of the planned orgy and it's supposed Nazi theme and who subsequently arranged for the session to be filmed. It was later revealed that her husband, an intelligence officer with MI5, was forced to resign over the incident and his wife's involvement.

The tabloid's case was further undermined when it was revealed that although it had a five-hour video recording of the session, it had never bothered to have the part of the video in which the participants speak German translated into English.

However, while Mosley looks set to win today, and has previously received the backing of a majority of the FIA member clubs, a number of details emerged during the hearing which are sure to further damage the Englishman's already tarnished reputation once they are made widely available to the general public.

In anticipation of today's ruling, the highly respected satirical magazine Private Eye has devoted numerous articles and cartoons to the FIA President in this week's issue.

Mosley, who has demanded exemplary damages, has said he will donate any damages received to charity. Many believe however, that though he might surely win there will be little in the way of damages to donate.
