Honda, which closed in on Williams and Renault, courtesy of Rubens Barrichello's stunning drive on Sunday, will continue to focus its efforts on 2009, according to team chief executive Nick Fry.

"We haven't changed our strategy," said Fry following Sunday's British GP, which saw Honda achieve its best finish since Jenson Button finished third at Interlagos in 2006.

"There are some aerodynamic changes for the next two races," Fry revealed. "Then after that we will do something for Monza, but I really don't think we will change our plan. That is, we are really looking at designing the car that Ross (Brawn) wants for next year. This year is about getting everything as Ross wants it in the way the team operates."

Despite Sunday's podium result, Fry is under no illusions as to where Honda is in the 2008 running order, however, looking ahead...

"On pure pace it is unlikely we will beat Ferrari or McLaren," he admitted, "but with rule changes and with KERS, next year is our big chance and we have to make the most of that.

"I still hope we can pull up a few more places in the championship," he added. "We haven't given up on this year, so don't think we are not going to do anything. We're going to try as hard as we can because there are a few people we would like to beat. But we can't take our eye off the ball, and the ball is 2009."
