Although he has made no secret of the fact that he would like to stay with Red Bull when his current contract comes to an end later this year, Mark Webber has admitted that he is looking at other options.

"Flavio is a good manager," the Australian told reporters in Montreal yesterday, referring to his manager, and Renault team boss, Flavio Briatore, "he will look to find the best option for me."

Having scored points in all but one race this season, ironically, his home race, Webber is joint-sixth in the Drivers' Championship, effectively 'best of the rest' behind the McLaren, Ferrari and BMW drivers. consequently, there is speculation that some of the bigger teams could be keeping an eye on the Australian, even though he is one of the oldest drivers on the grid.

"I'm very happy here," he said of his current employer, "and that makes a big difference when you're happy with the guys you're working with, the performance of the car. It's reflected in your other duties generally in between Grands Prix. It's what makes you happy about what you're achieving and it makes it worthwhile - the effort that you go to, to go out and compete at weekends."

Previously, Webber's best seasons were 2003 (Jaguar) and 2005 (Williams), the Australian finishing tenth in the Driver's Championship on both occasions.
