BMW has wrapped up its three-day test at Valencia, with Nick Heidfeld, Robert Kubica and, test driver, Christian Klien, all in action.
The day started wet, as Klien made his debut with the German team. The Austrian completed 32 laps as he familiarized himself with the F1.08 and the working procedures of his new team.
When the sun finally came out in the afternoon, Kubica and Heidfeld took over again for their third day. Both continued to work on the set-up of the car, covering 129 laps between them.
"Apart from Thursday afternoon weather conditions were far from perfect during the three days," admitted the team's Technical Director, Willy Rampf. "This made work difficult for the engineers. Nevertheless, this was an important and positive test for the team. We were able to complete a race simulation with both cars including pit stops without any problems.
"This underlines the high level of reliability of the new car," he added. "In addition we tested some newly developed parts. We will do more set-up work with the F1.08 next week during the final pre- season test in Barcelona."
