While bad weather was causing problems at Barcelona, further south, BMW found its test at Valencia similarly affected.

Due to poor weather conditions, which left the track wet all day, the German team could not run as scheduled.

The team decided to save testing mileage - limited by the regulations - for future sessions, and therefore Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica concentrated on system checks, collecting data with the F1.08 car running on wet and extreme wet tyres.

The Pole limited his driving to six laps overall, while his teammate, who completed 22 laps, also carried out some practice starts in the wet.

In the afternoon the team conducted several practice pit stops under different conditions as a special training for the mechanics.

No worthwhile times were posted.
