BMW continues at Valencia

BMW continued its solo test at Valencia today, where Nick Heidfeld got to experience the F1.08 for the first time.

Following the adverse weather that disrupted Wednesday's programme, conditions were better today though there were some gusty winds in the afternoon.

The German team is team is understood to be happy with the mileage achieved with the F1.08 today as it began testing changes in the mechanical and aero set-up to see and evaluate the reaction of the car, which responded as expected. Heidfeld completed 117 laps, experiencing no problems.

Marko Asmer, widely tipped to be the German outfit's test driver this year, enjoyed his second test with the F1.07, already feeling more familiar with the car and more comfortable in his seat after the team had made some adjustments for him beforehand. The team also worked with him on set-up changes in the course of the day to make him feel more confident with the car.

Friday, will be the final day of the first test in Valencia. Heidfeld will continue to drive the new car, while Robert Kubica will be taking over the F1.07B.
