The first scheduled proper test day at Valencia with the new F1.08 was hampered by adverse weather conditions. A combination of high winds and rain compromised the German outfit's programme.

Due to the conditions, the team concentrated on system checks on long runs with the new car, which was driven by Robert Kubica. Meanwhile, Nick Heidfeld, at the wheel of the F1.07, and carried out set-up work with the standard ECU and race start simulation. The Pole completed 105 laps while the German completed 74.

Tomorrow Marko Asmer, widely tipped to be handed the test drive role, will be driving the F1.07B. It is the second time the young Estonian will get behind the wheel of the team’s car. Also, Heidfeld will have his first drive with the new car.
