2007 rookie sensation Lewis Hamilton continues to make it into the news pages of the media - in addition to the sports pages - as he is fined 600 euros and has his driving licence suspended for speeding on a French motorway.

The McLaren driver was at the wheel of his Mercedes when he was stopped by police near the town of Laon, after being clocked at 196 kph (121 mph) on Sunday.

The police described Hamilton, who later had a friend collect his car, as being "polite" and "cooperative".

One can only wonder what might have happened had he been caught speeding in Spain.
