Toro Rosso has revealed that it is to protests the 25-second penalty imposed on Tonio Liuzzi for overtaking Adrian Sutil under a yellow flag on the 55th lap of yesterday's Japanese Grand Prix.

The penalty meant that the Italian team's first point of the season was taken away and handed to Adrian Sutil, thereby giving Spyker its maiden point of 2007.

Toro Rosso has notified the stewards of its intent to appeal the decision.
