Following an engine problem on his first lap in this morning's free practice session, the BMW team has opted to change the powerplant in the Pole's car.
Consequently, Kubica forfeits ten places on the grid for tomorrow's race.
Prior to this weekend, the Pole's worst qualifying performance was in Monaco and Canada, where he started from eighth on the grid on both occasions. The 22-yeasr-old looks certain to finish sixth in this year's Drivers' Championship.
