NEWS STORY

We recently advised readers of the imminent release of replicas of Lewis Hamilton's Canadian GP winning car in 1:18 and 1:43 scale.

It was in Montreal, at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, on June 10, that the British youngster scored his first ever Formula One Grand Prix win, in only his sixth race.

Following a previous report in July, we are now delighted to announce that our friends at Amalgam have confirmed that the sensational 1:8 scale replica of Lewis' winning car is now available.

Fore those of you not familiar with Amalgam's models, all we can say is that their products - and in particular the 1:8 scale cars - have to be seen to be believed, the attention to detail, the painstaking accuracy, defies belief.

They do not come cheap, but then you are not buying a model car, you are acquiring a work of art, a unique piece of motor racing memorabilia.

In addition to Hamilton's Canada winning car - Fernando's seventh placed version is also available - Amalgam is producing a range of other versions of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-22 including the cars the Woking team raced to a historic 1st and 2nd place in the 2007 Malaysian Grand Prix. In each case, the model comes with the aero set-up and livery details used in that particular race, using data supplied direct by the World Championship leaders.

Alongside the large scale models and full size steering wheel replicas of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-22, Amalgam is developing 1/12th scale nosecone models and 1/4 scale steering wheels.

The products are distributed by Amalgam but are also available via Team McLaren on their eShop at mclaren.com
