The Motorsports Commission of Malaysia (MCM) has revealed that the contract to host a round of the World Championship has been extended until 2015.

The new deal was confirmed by MCM Chairman Datuk Azman Yahya, who revealed that the contract was signed in July.

According to Azman the new contract is between FOM and Pantai Morib Ventures Sdn Bhd, a new subsiduary of Khazanah Holdings.

Under the terms of the new contract, the Sepang circuit is committed to hosting a race at night, "at any time upon notification" by FOM. However, before a night race can go ahead, it would need the approval of the FIA and Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), which runs Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

"The FIA has not told us about the specifications for the night race," said Azman, according to The Star. "They have engaged a company, which will be conducting a test in Paul Ricard Circuit in September. Whatever system was to be installed at Sepang would require the approval of FIA and DCA."
