Racing Engineering has dropped Ernesto Viso in favour of Spanish racer Marcos Martinez, who is expected to partner Javier Villa for the remainder of the season.

Martinez, like Villa, comes from Spanish F3 where he has already been part of the Racing Engineering Team.

The second seat at Racing Engineering has seen a number of changes this season, with Martinez being the fourth incumbent.

Sergio Jimenez started the season but was replaced at Magny-Cours by Viso, who was lucky to escape virtually uninjured following a horrific accident. A week later, at Silverstone, Viso, still recovering from his crash in France, was replaced by Filipe Albuquerque.

Racing Engineering is currently eighth in the team championship, while its best placed driver is Villa, who is also eighth, on 21 points.
