Niemela to replace Yamamoto at BCN

BCN Competicion Team has announced that 23-year-old Finnish driver Markus Niemela will replace Sakon Yamamoto in Hungary this weekend, following the Japanese driver's move to the Spyker F1 team.

Niemela has enjoyed success in several series including Formula Ford (2004), Formula BMW (2005), Formula Renault (GB) in 2006 and European Formula Renault 2this year.

A close friend Renault driver Heikki Kovalainen, Niemela will make his GP2 debut at the same circuit that saw him finish second in the recent European Renault Championship race.
