Toro Rosso boss Gerhard Berger claims he has an option on Sebastien Bourdais' services for 2008. However, the Austrian admits that the option is only good for a few more days, until the end of July.

"I have to say he has delivered what we were expecting from him," Berger told a press conference at the Nurburgring. "He has been quick, consistent and good with the engineers. So I think he has a good potential.

"We have an option on him until the end of the month," admitted the Austrian, who revealed that the Frenchman is just one of the names on his team's shopping list.

"There are a couple of names that we know are able to do a good job," he said. "One of them is Bourdais and another one is Sebastian Vettel."

With three Champ Car titles under his belt, and possibly on his way to a fourth, all with the Newman Haas team, Bourdais has made no secret of his desire to switch to F1.

With France still hoping to host a round of the World Championship in 2008, now might be the right time to make the move, even if one wonders whether Toro Rosso is the team with which he might make the biggest impression.
